Changes are ongoing in our maintenance team, to make a positive impact on our course quality. Since mid November 2017, instead of Head Greenkeeper Andry Martin, our course maintenance is consulted and lead by OÜ Turfpro agronomist Krzysztof Misiaczynski, the Head Greenkeeper of EGCC. The new setup must lead us to top quality greens and better playable course in general. Even though this change is granting us a little benefit on the maintenance cost side, we also face some additional costs on season 2018 due to moss removal and works needed for strengthening the grass on the greens. Krzysztof visits the course often enough to manage the greenkeeping team and maintenance works according to the detailed maintenance schedule.
Manager of the maintenance works, Tõnis Lattik is responsible to organise the team’s work at Otepää on everyday bases. Tõnis has also worked for EGCC earlier. We are keeping a keen eye on preparations, of course, for competitions, but we also change a lot of everyday maintenance work methods to make an effect to be visible for our customers and players. At the very beginning of the season 2018 our players should stay patient though, because the effect of these planned changes can be visible only when the grass gets time to improve and all planned works are carried out to make the goals come true.
